The Center for Urban Architecture & Design (CUAD) brings together architects, spatial data scientists, and conservationists to address Kurdistan's urgent urbanization challenges.
With deep respect for Mesopotamia's eight millennia of architectural heritage, CUAD works with municipal authorities to draft urban buffer guidelines, preserve vernacular stone courtyards, and introduce passive solar cooling technologies.
CUAD also hosts annual design charrettes, training the next generation of Kurdish architectural graduates in digital BIM modelling, photogrammetric reconstruction, and pedestrian-first city design.
Spatial analysis, 3D photogrammetry, and zoning guidelines for UNESCO World Heritage surrounding quarters.
Traditional earth and stone construction research adapted with passive solar cooling and greywater systems.
Public charrettes engaging local shopkeepers and neighborhood residents in neighborhood regeneration.
